The Woollen|Studio Fab-House was designed as a response to the growing need for a well designed, affordable, sustainable, and small place for living. We originally designed the fab-house to meet the Seattle backyard cottage requirements, and quickly found that our solution meets the diverse needs of today’s modern families, including:

• aging couples looking to downsize, and perhaps live near their family
• growing families looking for extra space with a backyard studio
• homeowners looking for additional income by renting space
• property owners with a difficult site, but needing a small place to live or vacation

Our simple design features all of the amenities that you would expect to find in today’s modern home:

• full kitchen, complete with appliances, wood cabinets, and an island
• practical breakfast nook, with a built in table that folds out to expand the dining area
• energy efficient windows, strategically placed to allow for maximum light and ventilation
• sliding doors to the outside to open your space to the yard
• a full bathroom with shower, water efficient fixtures, and heated floors
• a full bedroom with built in closets
• several options for flooring, including bamboo or white oak
• beautiful exterior wood siding, with a rain screen design for maximum durability
• standing seam metal roof built to last as long as you own the home

The Fab-House currently comes in 4 different designs, based on your needs, budget, and the size of your property. In addition, the 400 s.f. and 560 s.f. models are available with shed roof style or gable roof style.
